Operation Christmas Child Boxes - Due this Sunday

Operation Christmas Child is the world's largest Christmas project. When I came across this last night I was so excited thinking of the huge amount of items we had on hand to make boxes. We have been blessed to obtain so many items over the last year for very cheap or free, items that to a child may be the best gift they have received all year or ever. This is a great oppurtunity to show your children how to give back to others who may not be as blessed as them. They can even include their photo and address, in case a child can write back.

This year they added an extra bonus of being able to track your box if you make your $7 shipping donation online. They will give you a shipping label to print out and attach to your box. You will receive an e-mail telling you the destination of your gift, along with information about Operation Christmas Child in that country. If your boxes go to more than one country, you will receive more than one e-mail. What a great bonus for the kids to see where their boxes went.

My kids do not know yet, but they will be starting their boxes today after school. I am sure they will have no complaints to share their blessings. I LOVE when we are able to put our stockpile of goodies to such a good use.

Shoe boxes must be dropped off to one of their locations listed by this Sunday November 20th so only a few days left.
